Market (Pricing) Manager
Job Summary:
The Market Manager enhances the organization’s profitability and competitive position by analyzing pricing data, developing data-driven pricing strategies, and partnering with cross-functional teams to implement accurate and effective pricing models. This role is essential in guiding informed pricing decisions through evaluation of market trends, customer requirements, competitive dynamics, and operational costs
This role owns pricing and revenue performance for a designated region, ensuring decisions align with market conditions, customer needs, and enterprise financial objectives. Acting as a key partner to Sales, Operations, Finance, and Executive leadership, the Market Manager leverages deep analytical expertise, market insight, and financial acumen to optimize pricing, improve margin performance, and enhance overall commercial effectiveness. The position also oversees the development of pricing tools, leads competitive and profitability analyses, supports large-scale commercial opportunities, and drives continuous improvement within pricing processes and systems
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze pricing proposals, cost structures, and financial data to determine optimal pricing strategies
Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance to review and approve pricing for both new and existing customers
Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing models and tools aligned with business objectives and market dynamics
Evaluate customer profitability and identify opportunities to improve margins and overall financial performance
Conduct competitive analyses and benchmark pricing against industry standards and market trends
Support RFP/RFQ processes by delivering accurate, timely, and data-driven pricing inputs
Monitor ongoing pricing performance and recommend adjustments to ensure competitiveness and profitability
Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate pricing trends, insights, and key metrics to leadership
Assist in contract reviews to ensure pricing terms comply with internal standards and financial guidelines
- Identify process improvements and contribute to system and workflow enhancements related to pricing operations
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, Master’s degree preferred
2–5 years of experience in pricing, business analytics, revenue management, or logistics with demonstrated progression in responsibility
Strong ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable pricing strategies
Solid understanding of transportation or supply chain economics, including cost drivers, network dynamics, and competitive market forces
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven track record of managing workload, meeting deadlines, and driving results without direct authority
