Become a Freight Planner at Hirschbach – Where Precision Meets Performance

Are you a puzzle-solver who thrives under pressure? Do you love working with data, balancing multiple priorities, and making decisions that drive real-world results? Join Hirschbach as a Freight Planner and help power a logistics operation that moves thousands of loads across the country—on time, every time.

We’re looking for a detail-driven, analytical mind who can juggle variables, anticipate problems, and stay cool in a fast-paced environment. You won’t just be matching freight with trucks—you’ll be managing a critical part of our logistics strategy that impacts service, profitability, and driver success.

🧠 What You'll Do:

  • Strategically plan freight and equipment across your assigned region to maximize utilization, profitability, and service.

  • Pre-plan shipments to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries that align with both customer expectations and driver availability.

  • Monitor and adjust routes in real-time, check-calling, re-powering, and relaying freight as needed to keep operations flowing.

  • Balance trailer pools, freight demand, and available capacity to optimize efficiency across your network.

  • Book loads proactively, keeping the right mix of freight and equipment to support strong lane performance.

  • Work closely with Driver Managers to sync up on driver schedules, home time, and equipment status.

  • Maintain accurate predictive availability (PTA) and ensure all drivers are planned before they reach the end of their current assignments.

  • Develop and refine Plans of Action (POAs) to increase service performance and profitability—updating for delays or roadblocks as they arise.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to deliver high-performance solutions, sometimes including on-site visits or key meetings.

  • Think ahead, adapt quickly, and stay sharp across multiple moving parts.

🎯 You’re a Great Fit If You:

  • Have a high school diploma (required); Bachelor’s in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business is a plus.

  • Have prior experience in freight planning, dispatching, or operations coordination.

  • Are a master multitasker with a high attention to detail and love for solving logistical challenges.

  • Have excellent communication skills and can work well cross-functionally.

  • Are tech-savvy and comfortable using multiple systems and tools to track performance and make fast decisions.

  • Thrive under pressure and stay focused in a constantly changing environment.

🎁 Why You’ll Love Working at Hirschbach:

  • Bonus incentives for top performance.

  • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, life, and company-paid disability insurance, plus voluntary extras.

  • 120 hours of PTO on Day One – because you deserve work-life balance.

  • 160 Work-from-Home Hours after 6 months of proven performance.

  • 401(k) with match to plan for your future.
