The Process Improvement & Executive Analytics Director plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and supporting executive decision-making through exceptional data analysis, insights, and reporting. This position serves as the analytical engine behind process improvement initiatives and the trusted source for executive-level performance metrics. The role blends deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, a collaborative mindset, and strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Improvement Analytics (Approx. 75%) – Partner with VP of Process Improvement to provide full-cycle analytical support on strategic process improvement projects, including:
- Gathering and validating baseline data at the start of projects
- Identifying patterns, trends, and “stories” that reveal powerful insights
- Refining and enhancing data throughout the project to drive informed decisions
- Designing scorecards and dashboards to measure implementation success and track follow-up performance
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that guide change initiatives and promote accountability.
- Executive Reporting & Analytics (Approx. 25%) – Produce and maintain the CEO’s daily, weekly, and monthly scorecards used on the national morning call and the monthly business reviews. This includes updating and maintaining the operational metrics used in our financial reporting system (Vena). Expected to collaborate directly with executives to ensure reports are accurate, relevant, and aligned to strategic priorities. Anticipate executive needs and proactively innovate and deliver information that supports better, faster decision-making.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field (Master’s preferred but not required).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a data analytics or business intelligence role, preferably with a focus on operational improvement and executive reporting. Experience in North American for-hire truckload transportation is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Excel
- Strong data visualization and storytelling skills
- Analytical & Strategic Skills:
- Exceptional analytical and logical reasoning abilities
- Ability to see the “big picture” and understand business drivers behind the numbers
- Interpersonal Skills:
