Position Overview: The Vice President of IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity at Hirschbach Motor Lines will oversee the organization’s IT operations, including infrastructure, network services, and cybersecurity practices. This leadership role is responsible for strategic planning, operation, and management of IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, application hosting, telecom, and IT helpdesk support services.

Reporting Structure: The role reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Culture Development: Lead by example to foster a positive, collaborative work environment. Mentor and develop the IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity team to foster engagement and alignment with the organization's mission and values.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Contribute to and execute the IT components of the organization's strategy, focusing on infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement technology strategies that optimize operational efficiency, network stability, and security.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and daily operations of the IT infrastructure to ensure a secure, reliable, scalable, and efficient environment. Innovate and adopt best practices in IT operations and infrastructure management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across departments to ensure IT solutions meet business objectives. Ensure effective communication and support within the organization to facilitate technology-driven business improvements.
  • Cybersecurity Oversight: Direct the organization’s cybersecurity program to effectively protect against, detect, and respond to cyber threats. Maintain compliance with evolving IT security policies and procedures.
  • Vendor and Budget Management: Manage procurement and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services and products. Develop and manage IT operations and infrastructure budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Team Development: Scale the IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity team in alignment with organizational growth and technology evolution. Oversee professional development and training opportunities for team members.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Lead the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring organizational resilience.

Qualifications:
  • Education - Required: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or related field. Minimum 15 years of IT experience with significant leadership experience in managing IT operations, infrastructure planning, and cybersecurity practices. Preferred: Demonstrated expertise in transportation/supply chain/logistics, or similar industry, focusing on technology operations and cybersecurity.
  • Experience -
    • Extensive Leadership Experience: At least 15 years of overall IT experience, with a minimum of 10 years in leadership roles managing complex IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity in a sizable organization.
    • Strategic IT Management Experience: Demonstrable experience in strategic IT planning, execution, and management within sectors that demand high reliability and security, such as supply-chain, financial services or e-commerce.
    • Executive Collaboration: Highly experienced in collaborating closely with department heads, including the CFO, Chief Risk Officer (CRO), and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), to integrate IT and cybersecurity efforts with business operations.
    • IT Transformation and Migration Leadership: Proven track record in leading major IT transformation projects and technology migrations, with a focus on both legacy systems integration and modern cloud-based solutions.
    • Regulatory Engagement: Has experience engaging with external regulatory bodies and technology partners to maintain compliance and awareness of emerging technology trends.

    • Innovation and Improvement Leadership: Ability to drive continuous improvement through technological innovation and operational efficiency.
    •  IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Expertise: Expert knowledge of IT infrastructure setup, network management, cybersecurity protocols, cloud services, and data center management.
    • Enterprise Systems Management Proficiency: Proficient in overseeing the deployment and management of enterprise-wide IT systems, including ERP, CRM, and bespoke applications.
    • Cybersecurity and Compliance Acumen: Familiarity with modern cybersecurity practices, data protection regulations, and compliance requirements.
    • Systems Analysis and Risk Assessment Expertise: Strong capabilities in systems analysis, risk assessment, and integration of cutting-edge IT solutions. Success Metrics
