Training and Development Manager



The training and development manager is responsible for improving the skill quality of the organization's employees. This position assesses developmental needs and request and arranges suitable training solutions. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance.

Essential Functions

Development training needs assessment.  Summarize results and communicate recommendations to executive team.
Coordinate and deliver special trainings i.e.  Steven Covey’s 7 Habits. 
Ensure all supporting personnel are in place for all training.  IT support, coordinator, developer and communication .
Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
Provide clear and precise feedback from trainings.
Develops and maintains organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
Communicate to the executive team the results of training and the effectiveness.
Modifies programs as needed.
Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Works/supports effectively as an HR team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
Orchestrate the Training team  to ensure all equipment, software, design is ready for training
Works effectively with the staff at the local community college to offer local classes on site.
Ensure the Training support group has all connections, equipment, supplies ready and working by training time.
Identify and coordinate training.  Ensure all equipment is set up for training.
Travel is required.  
Support the HR Team when needed and when not involved in training

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smart phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other presentation materials.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Some night and weekend work may be required.


This position requires up to 25% travel.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
2 -3 years facilitation experience preferred.
