Human Resources Intern

Job Summary:

Hirschbach Motor Lines is looking for a year round intern! The Human Resources Intern will work as support for the HR department at Hirschbach’s Corporate Office.  As the HR Intern, you have the opportunity to get exposure to all areas of HR with some areas of focus. If you want to be involved in creating the future of refrigerated intermodal transportation, and are dynamic, organized, and a self-starter, join our team as a Human Resources Intern, an integral part of our HR Team.

The successful candidate must be able to understand all policies, procedures, instructions, rules and regulations associated with this position. In addition, the successful candidate should be able to define problems, collect data, and establish facts to assist with drawing a valid conclusion. This candidate should be able to work under minimal supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting and Selection: assist HR Team in full recruitment cycle process. Schedule telephone interviews, onsite interview, and travel required for interviews.
  • Compliance: assist HR Team in achieving full legal compliance within filing, data entry, paperwork, and obtaining records.
  • Work with management to ensure that all processes are being followed correctly, and all staffing needs are being met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

  • Willingness to work diligently and as part of a team.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits and employee issues.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field highly desired. Working towards degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Labor Relations preferred.
  • Skilled at multi-tasking and problem solving with strong time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills; accuracy is essential.
